For those of you that don’t know, just over a year ago the Add People team nominated CAFT as the company charity. Since then, we have been busy with a number of activities to help the cause such as dressing up as Santa at the CAFT Christmas party or simply just having a dress down day in the office! CAFT is a great charity, based in Cheshire, which provides free weeklong holidays for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from across the Northwest of England.
Last Friday, our Sales Director Phil Mc Nulty and Sales Manager Ben Ratcliffe went to great heights to help raise money and awareness for the cause. The daring duo didn’t waste much time in making the commitment to taking the leap of faith “It was a last minute decision; we wanted to do something to help raise money for CAFT and within 20 minutes we had signed ourselves up for a 13,000ft skydive!” Phil and Ben managed raise nearly £1,000 for CAFT despite Ben not being very comfortable at high altitudes. To quote him more directly, “I don’t like heights and I don’t like flying!“
It is obvious that the pair are willing to go that extra mile (in the sky) for the charity, as Phil commented “I have had the pleasure of visiting the farm before with my colleagues and it’s a great place; it gives children who have never even had a holiday before the chance to really enjoy themselves regardless of their background or disability.” Both said it was an unbelievable experience however they plan on staying on the plane next time they take to the sky!
The Add People team aren’t stopping there. Nick Gardener, one of our SEO experts is going on an expedition across 3 of Italy’s famous volcanoes, Etna, Vesuvius and Stromboli.
